The Mangrove Sub-component Vietnam, one of six components of the project "Reserving environmental degradation trends in the south China sea and gulf of Thailand period 2002 - 2008", is going to hold a 2 days workshop on sustainable mangrove management in October 2007.

The workshop is planned to be held in Xuan Thuy district where the Xuan Thuy National Park locates. The target group of the workshop will be managers, planners and policy makers from provincial, district and communal levels. About 60 participants from northern coastal provinces will be invited to join the workshop. 
 
The workshop is a follow up activity of the Regional training on Sustainable Mangrove Management funded by the project. The objective of the workshop is to share and exchange understanding and knowledge on managing the mangroves in sustainable way. It also provides opportunity to participants to raise and discuss issues on effective and sustainable mangrove management.
