Started working at RCFEE in 1994 and focussed in R&D and projects related to land evaluation for sustainable use of forest land and forest plantation. More than 10 years experience in forest management and land use planning for large-scale forest plantation project as a long-term consulting partner of GTZ, KFW, WB and Jica.
Became a deputy chief of Land Use and Environment Division in 2002, a Vice Director of RCFEE in 2004 and a Director of RCFEE in July 2008. The main research areas and experience include:
Sustainable use of forest land;
Land use planning and land evaluation;
Mangrove ecosystem management;
Environmental impact assessment;
Forest economic valuation for environmental services;
Prof. Do Dinh Sam is one of the leading sciencetist in the field of Forestry. He have his Ph.D degree in foresty from Forestry Academy, Sain Petersburg, Russia in 1977 and Doctor of Science from same Academy in 1990.
Prof. Sam was the Director of Forest Science Institute of Vietnam and the founder of RCFEE in 1990. After his retirement in 2001, he still working for FSIV as an principal researcher and a member of FSIV academic board. Prof. Sam also work with RCFEE as an associate researcher. His main field of knowledge include: forest plantation, sustainable forest land use, environmental monitoring and forest policy.
Dr. Hoang Xuan Ty was the director of RCFEE from 1995 to 2001. His long-term study in forest soil have significantly contributed to the understanding of nutrient cycling in Vietnam forest ecosystem.
Dr. Ty has been retired in 2001, and now working actively as an member of Vietnam Forestry Association as well as an consultant. He is also a member of FSVI academic board and RCFEE associate. Dr. Ty main field of interests include: forest soil, forest ecology, CDM, social forestry and policy.
Assoc. Prof. Ngo Dinh Que has a PhD in
forestry from University of Zvolen, Czechoslovakia. He started his
career in Cuc Phuong National Park working on soil classification. In
1990 he joined the RCFEE where he worked to date in various position.
In
2000, Dr. Ngo Dinh Que was appointed director of RCFEE. His research is
directed toward sustainable use of forest resources with the specific
aims of use soil science and geomorphology to improve forest
management. In 2003 Dr. Ngo Dinh Que was appointed Assoc. Prof by
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. He has successfully
supervised 5 PhD students in the field of forest ecology and forest
soil.
Dr. Ngo Dinh Que was the principle investigator of
several National Research Projects on forest soil and ecology. Results
of these researches have lead to important improvement in forest
management in Vietnam. He has also completed many missions for the
World Bank, ADB, GTZ, FAO. Dr. Ngo Dinh Que main research interest are:
Nguyen Anh Dung hold an Engineer degree
in forestry from Agriculture and Forestry University of Thai Nguyen
(1992); an MSc in Forestry from Vietnam University of Forestry (2001);
and now in his 2nd year of PhD research at the same University.
He
started his career at Forestry Research Center of Thai Nguyen province
as a forest surveyor and engineer working on all aspects of forest
mapping, land allocation, and forest management at very detail level.
Nguyen
Anh Dung joined RCFEE in 1997. He was in charge of establishment of our
new 300-ha research station at Hoa Binh reservoir. In 2000 Mr. Dung has
been appointed to head of Research Station at Hoa Binh reservoir
responsible of research in forest hydrology, watershed protection,
natural forest regeneration and knowledge transfer to local agency.
Through his career working with many implementation projects, Nguyen
Anh Dung has acquired an extensive experience on forest survey/mapping,
soil survey, species classification, design experimental model,
planning and implementing large-scale forest plantation project.
Mrs Ha Thi Mung received an Engineer degree in forestry in 1992 at Tay Nguyen University; and an Ph.D degree in forestry in 2004 at Forest Science Institute of Viet Nam. From 04/1993 to 09/2007 worked at Agro-Forest Department of Tay Nguyen University as a university teacher. In Tay Nguyen University, she carried out two main duties: teaching (teached at plant physiology subject and phytogeography subject) and science research. Besides, she worked as a consultant for some projects in forest and water management field... From 01/2003 to 05/2005, she was nominated as a deputy chief of plant biology department. From 06/2005 to 03/2006, she hold office as a deputy chief and from 04/2006 to 09/2007 as a chief of forest ecololy and environment department. From 10/2007 up to now, she has been working for RCFEE as a main reseacher and her main duties are as follow: · Plant physiology · Forest ecology · Agro - Foresstry · Forest plantation
Doan Dinh Tam has Engineer degree in
Forestry from Vietnam Forestry University (1999) and and MSc in Forest
Ecology from the same University (2005).
He joined RCFEE
in 1999 working in area of forest rehabilitation in different
ecological area of Vietnam with Prof. Ngo Dinh Que. From 2001 to 2005
his main research focused on sustainable use of mangrove forest and
rehabilitation of Melaleuca forest. Doan Dinh Tam has 6 year experience
in soil survey, forest survey, land use planning, forest development
and management.
Dinh Thanh Giang received an Engineer
degree in forestry from Vietnam University of Forestry (1996); an MSc
in Forestry from the same University in 2002.
His
research work with RCFEE starting with study of soil nutrition cycling
under different type of sloping land cultivation with Prof. Do Dinh
Sam. He continues his research in the field of sustainable land use and
forest ecology. From 1999-2003 Mr. Giang worked on various research
projects regarding the improvement of land evaluation procedure,
mangrove ecology system, and adaptation of Melaleuca species from the south to the northern area of Vietnam
Dinh
Thanh Giang key quality are: soil mapping, forest mapping, forest land
evaluation, design and implement experimental model and land use
planning.
Nguyen Thi Thu Huong received a BSc
in Biology from University of Hanoi (1996), an MSc in Ecology from the
same University (2001), and now in her 2nd year of PhD research at Queensland University, Australia.
Huong
started her career at RCFEE in 1998 worked with Prof. Do Dinh Sam on
several projects to investigate the relation between rain forest and
micro environmental factors. Since then her research interest focus on plant' water and nutriention. Huong is currently responsible
for RCFEE research in plant physiology, forest ecology and biodiversity
valuation. She also works closely with Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Chau to run
our laboratory.
Nguyen Thanh Hai holds an Engineer degree
in forestry from Vietnam University of Forestry (1996). He joined RCFEE
since 1996 working at various positions with the research interest
focus on forest ecology especially natural forest and natural
regeneration.
With 10 year working in
different ecological region of Vietnam, Mr. Hai has acquired a vast
experience in field survey, species classification, implementation of
forest plantation project at micro-level and participatory study
especially with indigenous people.
Nga received a BSc in Finance (2002) from Hanoi University of Finance. She have joined RCFEE right after graduation working as accountance manager. She is in charge of finance management, accounting, and project management.
Pham Ngoc Thanh received a Diploma in
Information Technology from School of Poly-technique of Hanoi (2000)
and Engineer in Forestry from Vietnam University of Forestry (2005).
He
joined RCFEE in 1999 working as GIS technical and forest mapping. He
has participated in many GIS work to facilitate land use planning of
afforestation project for World Bank, ADB, GTZ and KFW. Pham Ngoc Thanh
has 6 years experience with GIS application, forest survey and mapping.
